AZ Colored Pencil Artists in the News...

Members in the news...

Congratulations to the Arizona artists who were accepted into the CPSA International Exhibition this year. MaryAnn Kot, Jane McCreary, Rose Moon, Helen Rowles and Catherine Sawner.

New President-Elect

At the November 2009 meeting, CPSA DC 212 members elected CPSA Signature member Toni James as President of our local chapter. Congratulations to Toni and I am sure the members will be happy to step up and help her with all the work that keeps a chapter running smoothly. Take a look at some of Toni's art at http://www.desertwindsstudio.com/ and you can also follow Toni's blog at http://tonijames.blogspot.com/

AZ Art Alliance Membership

As of 2010, CPSA DC #12 has joined the Arizona Art Alliance (www.azartalliance.com), a non-profit organization with a membership of 25 Arizona-based art groups. The member groups represent close to 4,000 visual artists who produce fine art in over a dozen mediums. AZ Art Alliance offers many opportunities for artists to showcase their works.

In order to participate in exhibits, each artist must first become a juried artist. The process and application to do is located here, and requires:

  1. A check for $10.00 for processing your application
  2. One CD (jpeg format at 300 dpi or greater) of your three best art works. Each image should bear your name, its title, finished dimensions, and media. On the face of the CD, please write your name, phone number, e-mail address, and the name of the art league through which you are submitting this application.
  3. Your standard business card.
  4. #10 Business size, self-addressed, stamped envelope
  5. The completed application form.

Applications must be received by January 31, 2010!

Newsletter

Our Newsletter, Rendering Point, is chock full of news and comes out several times each year. Also, a special "e-news" of breaking news information from the Board that is timely and supports members in their work and interests is available to members with email.

Many thanks to our wonderful Newsletter Editor, Kathy Koneski, for all of her work providing up-to-date news and informative articles that colored pencil artists want to know. We are currently seeking a new editor to take over this volunteer position. If anyone is interested, please contact Elliott.
